Interaction and feedback between client and designer leads to great landscape designs. However, not every client has the time to check email messages and to evaluate drawings in PDF form at different stages of the process, but most do have a mobile device. It is now possible to connect client and designer using mobile Apps and storage in the cloud and a mobile App and review progress on the fly.

Tip: This system can also be used to manage a larger project such as a wetland or even a set of drawings for an interpretive center. That may include floor plans, electrical circuitry, irrigation systems etc.

Cloud storage

The data needed to describe a design is in the form of a gCADPlus drawing, the storage space required is quite small. There are many cloud storage offerings that can be used to store designs and accessed via an App on a mobile phone. Some are free or may come with a subscription to other software (e.g. Microsoft Office). Here is a list:

  • DropBox
  • Google Drive
  • OneDrive
  • Box
  • SugarSync
  • KENESTO Drive
  • WebDav
